Impact Background
Education Development Network

In many Ugandan primary schools, the student-to-teacher ratio is incredibly high. Even the most dedicated teachers struggle to provide individual attention when they lack basic physical resources. Without workbooks, lessons are often dictated or copied from the blackboard, leaving little room for students to practice, play, and master new skills.

Donations with Impact

The Education Development Network (EDU Network) creates and distributes free, high-quality student workbooks designed specifically for the Ugandan curriculum. They provide structured pathways to literacy and numeracy as well as using competency based metrics to asses each student's individual development.

Their range of workbooks includes:

  • Core Literacy: English Grammar, Reading Comprehension, and Creative Writing.

  • Early Foundations: Specialised Early Childhood Development (ECD) resources.

  • Numeracy: Simplifying key learning areas including teaching time and measurements.

  • A "Teaching Assistant" in Print: These workbooks allow teachers to manage large classes more effectively, as every student has a clear guide to follow at their own desk.

Make learning accessible by providing free workbooks to schools in Uganda.  Each workbook costs just $2.50 NZD to print and distribute.
